Annual Renewal Information
2026 Renewal Season December 1st, 2025, to March 1st, 2026.
During this time, Kansas Motor Carriers Services experiences extremely high volumes of requests. Please plan ahead and submit your information as early as possible. It can take 5 business days before a staff member is able to begin working on a request.
KMCA Members: You may now request renewals via email at registration@kmca.org for faster service. A small convenience fee applies and will be billed after the service is completed. Note: Please send all renewal requests to registration@kmca.org - not individual staff members. SAVE TIME ALL Customers: If you come in person, save time! Before you come, be prepared and check that you have the appropriate documents:
| Please note: Starting Feb. 2, 2026, KMCS will charge a $2.00 Administrative Fee per unit for the work we do on your behalf. Why this is necessary: For years, we've absorbed rising operational costs to keep our services accessible. KMCS receives no taxpayer support and operates entirely on fees we collect, but state fees pass through to KDOR and don't cover our costs. We've reached the point where this modest fee is necessary to sustain operations. Learn more here. |

- Have your Renewal Packet?

- Check & make any changes on all company information**
- Check & make any changes on all vehicle information
- Check or insert mileage (Time Frame 07/01/2024 – 06/30/2025)
- Mark whether you want quarterly payments
- Signature of owner on IFTA mileage renewal page and final renewal page.

- If signature is not by owner of company, company officer, or contact name is not already on the account you must include Power of Attorney (POA).
- Units registered 54,001 lbs. or greater - must supply 2290 paid receipt stamped by IRS* - file online at www.kmca2290.com, if needed. Note: IRS Closes December 26th - Mid January
- MCS-150 updated within the last 24 months
- Supply copy of 2026 UCR Certificate – Click here to make 2025 payments.
- Certificate of liability insurance. If "All Autos" is not selected, then the VIN list page is needed.

- Units registered 54,001 lbs. or greater – must supply 2290 paid receipt stamped by IRS* - file online at www.kmca2290.com, if needed. Note: IRS Closes December 26th - Mid January
- MCS-150 updated within the last 24 months
- Proof of Insurance for ALL vehicles in your fleet.
- IF INTERSTATE, supply copy of 2026 UCR Paid Certificate – Click here to make 2025 payments.

- Required from Motor Carrier
- MCS-150 updated within the last 24 months
- Supply copy of 2026 UCR Certificate
- Certificate of Liability Insurance. If "All Autos" is not selected, then the VIN list page is needed.
- Units registered 54,001 lbs. or greater – Must supply a paid 2290 receipt by IRS* - file online at www.kmca2290.com, if needed. Note: IRS Closes December 26th - Mid January
- Copy of current lease agreement
- Complete Safety Responsibility Agreement. This form is available as an online fillable form here: KS Safety Responsibility Agreement (ksrevenue.gov). This must be signed by the motor carrier you are leased to.
*2290’s – Must be in truck owners name per IRS rules.
- If in motor carriers name it must be written in the lease agreement - motor carrier pays 2290
- If truck is owned by a leasing company - typically paid by lessee unless otherwise written in agreement
** If company address changes are needed – company must provide 3 legal forms of proof of address change
(i.e.)- bank statements, utilities, lease agreements, tax bills, tax returns, other legal documents.)
